Hiring a Contractor can sometimes be a frightening experience.  There are many scams and frauds out there so always ask questions and research the company before you hire.  Here are some important questios to ask.

  1. Are you insured? (Can we be put on as additionally insured for this address?) When getting insurance call them or email to make sure that they still have insurance
  2. Are they Bonded?
  3. Do you have references?(Ask for at least 3)
  4. Are your employees on payroll or do you use Subcontractors?
  5. How log have you been in business in this area?
  6. When will the work begin and when will it be completed?

As a Homeowner you are responsible for everyone on your property and your Insurance will only cover so much.  Always check with your Insurance Company
